About Me

Hi! My name is Brenda Winkler. I reside in Green Bay with my daughter Genevieve and our dog Lovee. My education in music education comes from St.Norbert College and Northwestern University. I teach general, vocal, and instrumental music for all grades. It is through music education I wish to develop future learners and leaders that are college, career, and community ready, that use music to praise our triune God at all times. My teaching experience includes over 30 years in private music lessons, beginning, middle, high school concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands, pep band, marching band, pit orchestras, adaptive music, AP music theory, music lab, Rockin’ Strummin’ Drummin’ Plunkin’, music life skills, general music, vocal music, Sunday School, and VBS. As a performer, I play lead alto saxophone in the Green Bay City Band and the saxophone quartet “Just For Fun”. I have played in the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra and the Green Bay Civic Symphony. I played in the dance band “The Brass Factory” until disbanding in 2019. I played piano for church services at my church and accompanied the church’s children’s choir and school solos for solo/ensemble. I play my saxophone in the church’s blended group, with the choir, and solistically. I love sharing how music can enhance our students’ love of and connection with God.
