A Fun Day Cheering on the UWGB Women’s Basketball Team

On Thursday, November 13, our entire school in grades kindergarten through eighth grade had the chance to cheer on the University of Wisconsin Green Bay women’s basketball team for their Education Day game. It was a memorable day filled with excitement, school pride, and a whole lot of cheering. Providing our students with an opportunity to watch a college basketball game is always special, and this year was no exception.

Our kindergarten students were especially thrilled to be there. Player number 21, Kallie Peppler, spends time each week helping in Ms. Armstrong’s classroom. Seeing a familiar face on the court made the experience even more meaningful. The kindergarten students lit up when they spotted her playing, and they loved getting to cheer her on in such a big arena.

Throughout the game, our students proudly held up homemade posters along with printed photos of coaches and players. The energy was high from start to finish with cheers, games, and excitement filling every moment. Cheering on the Phoenix as they defeated the New Hampshire Wildcats made the day even better.

This field trip has become a tradition we look forward to each year. The past two years, we attended a men’s basketball Education Day game, so joining the women’s team for the first time was a new and fun experience for everyone. Our students also received discounted ticket vouchers for future games, which makes it a wonderful activity for families looking for something enjoyable to do together this winter.

We are grateful for the partnership and the memories created. It was a great day for our students, our staff, and our school community.

Go Phoenix!
