A Joyful Evening of Music and Christmas Spirit

Our St. Bernard School General Music and Choir Christmas Concert was a beautiful celebration of the season, bringing students, families, and staff together for an evening filled with music, faith, and joy. Held on Monday, December 15, the concert showcased the hard work, talent, and growth of our students across grade levels.

Under the direction of Mrs. Eva Hess, with Mrs. Anne Gerlach accompanying, students shared a thoughtfully planned program that highlighted both traditional Christmas favorites and special ensemble performances. The evening opened with selections that invited the audience into the spirit of the season, including Silver and Gold and a festive audience sing-along that encouraged everyone to lift their voices together.

One of the highlights of the night was the Hillside Harmonics Choir, whose performance included classics such as Silent Night, Christmas Is a Comin’ (May God Bless You), and Do You Hear What I Hear? Their confident singing and expressive tone reflected weeks of preparation and dedication.

Intermediate grade students also took the stage with beloved pieces like The Little Drummer Boy, featuring a third-grade drum ensemble, along with Silver Bells and We Three Kings. The percussion ensemble added energy and excitement, giving students the opportunity to shine in a unique and engaging way.

Our youngest musicians delighted the audience with their joyful performances of Silver and Gold, Away in a Manger, and The Twelve Days of Christmas. Their enthusiasm and smiles were a reminder of the simple joy that music brings, especially during the Christmas season.

The concert concluded with familiar carols that brought everyone together, including O Come All Ye Faithful and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. These final moments captured the true heart of the evening: community, gratitude, and shared celebration.

Thank you to our students for their hard work, to our music staff for their leadership, and to our families for their continued support. This concert was a wonderful reminder of how music brings us together and helps us celebrate the joy and hope of Christmas.
